3 bar screens on a storm basin
Over the past few days, we have started up the three bar screens at the Belle Ombre basin in Clermont-Ferrand, after equipping the Vergnes basin with two virtually identical bar screens two years ago.
What is the function of these basins?
During rainy periods, the purpose is to temporarily store water, thus avoiding saturation of the treatment plants, and then to release it back into the network in a controlled manner. The function of bar screens on this type of structure is to block the waste that can be found on combined sewer systems (plastic bottles and bags, pieces of wood, etc.).
Each bar screen can absorb up to 8500m3/h with a 40mm air gap.
We sincerely thank BP2E for its confidence in this project.
