All our bar screens are pit-tested

Sep 2, 2019

For over 15 years now, our workshop has been equipped with a test pit (Ø2500mm, depth 7500mm). This enables us to test over 95% of the bar screens we manufacture, virtually in real-life conditions. Only very wide or very deep bar screens are tested differently.

Every year, more than 350 bar screens pass through the hands of Aurélien and Nicolas, our cable technicians.

What is their day-to-day mission?

  • Once the bar screens have been manufactured, they are fitted with all the limit switches, straps, manual or electrical boxes, and any other equipment required (frost protection, winch, acoustic insulation, etc.).
  • Ensure the appearance and conformity of each bar screen
  • Check clearances, assembly and functionality of each part
  • Install bar screens in pit for testing
  • Carry out various tests to validate the operation of each bar screen (centering of the belt, opening and closing of the shovel/carriage assembly, penetration of the toothed plate into the screen, etc.).

The settings and tests are recorded on a "test sheet" and attached to each case file.

All these controls are in place to minimize unforeseen events during on-site assembly and commissioning.
